Kombo Tatoo

Kombu Tatoo

OK, so this really isn’t a tatoo officially, it is 6 small burn marks that I received as part of a Kambo Frog treatment recently.  It was not too fun, but I do feel pretty clear headed since, and felt like I improvised really well the day after, finding it easier to stay in the “zone” (admittedly not a very scientific observation). Some have claimed healings from it.  I figured I’d give it a try with the invitation of my good friend Howard, who had done it before.  After some intentional group prayers, you begin by drinking 2 liters of water (harder to do than I thought, in one sitting!).  The small burns were just a small pinch, then the practitioner smears a wax-y substance over the open burns scraped off the skin of a Kambo Frog in the South American Amazon forest (the frogs are not harmed in the process).  The “big purge” then begins within minutes… exiting from both ends… green and yellow bile stuff.  Yuk!  Again, not so fun, but it is supposed to do wonders for your lymphatic system.  This is not the kind of thing you’d try just for kicks.  No high or hallucinogenic properties.  I’ll try most anything (that is supposed to be good for you) once.  This is definitely not recommended for everyone!  …but I report to you here, as promised, anything that could be about better health… and in turn, better musicianship through health.  As always, you be your own best judge as to whether any of the things I speak of in this category of posts are for you.  My experience was professionally guided.
