Renegade Repairs – soundposts

Yes, surprising to the newbee… your violin’s soundpost, the wooden dowel inside your violin body that connects the vibrations of the top and back to make it louder and fuller (hopefully) is NOT glued in place!  Sometimes it can become dislodged from it proper positioning and rattle around the inside of the body.  Its specific placement, slightly left or right, or forward or back, behind the treble foot of your bridge can drastically change the tone of your instrument too!

I just uploaded some info about placing and adjusting your soundpost using a soundpost setter tool in our Renegade Repair section.  Check it out here!
