Famous song, written in 1931 by Duke Ellington (music) and Irving Mills (lyrics). Recorded by too many to mention here. Often played in the gypsy jazz style.
Sounds fun and easy with it’s “do wop” sing-along anthem, but can actually be rather difficult to solo over. I’ll attempt, in typical Fiddle Jam Style, to teach you how to “cheat” ;~) your way through it with our “think-as-little-as-possible” approach (see “EZ-er” video below), but also explain in detail how I personally think as I improvise over this common tune too (see “advanced” video below).
I will add more materials soon (like a melody lead sheet, and recordings of me performing it, as well as a backing track for you to practice to)…
