As I’ve stated a number of places on this site, I really strongly recommend you have a real flesh-and-blood teacher if you are an absolute beginner (mostly so you don’t get into any bad or even harmful habits).  But, that said, even though I am a professional jazz violinist and know all the complicated and “fancy” stuff about music, I get a personal thrill by getting a student to go “oh, I get it!” …at any ability level.

In my private practice I still teach many  beginners (youngest: age 3, oldest: age 93 so far!) and will post things that, in my experience, help the beginner have MUSICAL experiences as soon as possible… that’s what it’s supposed to be all about afterall, isn’t it?
