Is it a cat?  Is it some mythical being?  I’m not sure, but it’s cool!  A friend brought this violin into my shop today for a bridge repair and I took a minute to do a photo shoot for you before sending it home.  The scroll kind of reminds me of some of the work I’ve seen my friend, Eric Aceto at Ithaca Stringed Instruments do.
