Hi Fiddle Jammers!
I know, 2020 was obviously a crazy and unprecedented year on planet earth!
I sincerely hope that you and all your loved ones have stayed healthy and safe.

Interestingly, as we all became more and more sequestered, ONLINE LEARNING has moved to the forefront of most people’s lives. The Fiddle Jam Institute is still chugging along… I hope you are getting benefit from the hundreds of lessons in the library or one of my stand-alone courses or books.

My goal is still to serve more and more people in the worldwide violin/fiddling community especially in the non-Classical areas of Bluegrass, Folk, Jazz, Blues, Rock and have them tap into their own creative spirits with improvisation in these deep and fulfilling styles.

2020 News Review
2020 saw the release of my new Bucket List Fiddle Jam course that guarantees you playing one cool and fun song with good technique, tone and rhythm in one month or your money back! I produced nearly 70 videos surrounding this new course for this very specific niche of the “adult beginner” violinist, including one with a chiropractor who has adjusted many famous musicians on how to not hurt yourself when playing the violin. I approached all the material from an adult perspective, promising not to force you to play Twinkle Twinkle or May had a Little Lamb. I had a lot of fun producing it and students taking the course seem to be having fun too. Licks and Tricks for the Cool Fiddle Stuff

A new kind of electric violin – the EV3 from Outlaw Fiddle
Also coming in 2021 is my own electric violin offering from my sister company Outlaw Fiddle. You may have seen a couple of the prototypes in videos. I used my traditionally shaped “black tie” prototype almost exclusively in the videos for the Blues Violin Course. That violin had the same pickup configuration as the modern flagship “EV3” model I will be offering first. I have recently “tooled up” to produce these for commercial sale and are now taking pre-orders if interested. Multiple patents are being applied for in it’s design and function. The tone is something I’ve searched for for quite a few years, tinkering in my shop after hearing this electric violin tone in a dream. The tone is open and dynamic and not so squashed like piezo pickups of most other electric violins on the market today…. and it distorts beautifully like an electric guitar when pushed through an amp! It is inspiring me to play new kinds of music myself! I’m getting psyched to offer these to others. Stay tuned!
