Hey Fiddle Jammers! I just posted a new jam for you that uses the D Dorian scale/mode. It came from a jam we made up on-the-spot during a private lesson (hear the live recording with adult student Bill too). I liked the groove of it so much that I later went into the studio to record a full band jam-along demo of it for you too.
D Dorian scale is super easy on the violin: 0 – 1 – low2 – 3 on the D & A strings, or any D E F G A B C (that’s right! all natural notes!) anywhere on any string or any instrument! Give it a try. Dorian has a more serious or sophisticated rock sound and feeling. Carlos Santana would not have a career without it!
Check out the D Dorian Jam lesson here.

Have FUN!
