Description: The Django Reinhardt/Stephan Grappelli Gypsy Jazz classic that has crossed over into many styles. I’ve heard this done by Lounge bands, Bluegrass bands, Folk groups, and even Jam Bands. This tune has been featured in many movies too (like “Chocolat”). The melody, simply an arpeggiation of the chords, is really just an excuse to get to the jamming quicker, which is what this tune is really all about! As written, a student must know the higher notes on the E string (though you could transpose it down an octave onto the G & D strings if you want to as well… I play it that way sometimes too). Knowledge of low 1 F natural on the E string is needed, as well as pushing the 4th finger on the E string up a half step higher to C natural too. Have fun!
