This is a very deep and rather wide style of music with many isms & schisms within it!  Improvisation is often not a very big component of Celtic Fiddling (though some of the up-and-coming new artists tend to head there more these days), but I well understand and recognize the sheer power of a good Jig or Reel on audiences of every age!  …I would often draw from this style in my school assembly work… I dare you to try to keep 400 elementary kids in their seats while playing a Jig!  There are whole websites devoted to this one style alone!  I will attempt to address the basics here with this auto generated list.
