Description

The University of Florida asked me to record a Hendrix-inspired version of our US national anthem, “The Star Spangled Banner” for playing at some of their sporting events during the COVID-19 Pandemic.  I took me a bit of practice to work up an arrangement that I felt lived up to the spirit of Jimi Hendrix’s, but still sounded like it was meant for violin.  It is fairly advanced position-bending stuff, but nothing that a Classically trained player might be able to handle.  Below is a demo of me playing it.  Get the hand-written traditional staff notation chart as a download at purchase.  Enjoy!

PS: I think I might have been tuned down a step or so from standard during this performance as well (on of my favorite things to do!).
